Hi everyone,
This note is to let you know I'm relaunching my book, When He's Only Into Himself, next week. When I first published my book in August 2007, it was so cathartic and healing that I felt funny promoting it.
Fortunately, Sam Vaknin, author of Malignant Self-Love-Narcissism Revisited, mentioned my book on his website. As a result, the people who understand narcissism first-hand, all of you, started interacting with me on this messageboard. I can't tell you how healing this has been for me and I want to thank all of you for your participation. I know it has not only helped me, but many others who are struggling to understand the narcissist in their lives.
Below are the key differences between my first book and my new book:
First, I've decided to go by my real first name. As you can imagine, I changed all of the names in my book to protect the anonymity of my ex-husband and boyfriend. Well, I also changed mine. My real name is Lisa and I've been feeling funny going by a different name. So I'm going to go by my real first name now. I will be going by Lisa E. Scott. The E, of course, is for Ella.
Second change to my book is the title. I want to educate others on the topic of narcissism so am changing the title to one that will hopefully appeal to many - those that have never even heard of narcissism before. The new title is: He's So Vain.
Lastly, I've tried to add some humor to the book and wrote a more thorough conclusion looking at the part I played in my relationships with these men.
Changes to the text of my book are pretty subtle. The biggest difference is that this time I'm ready to promote my book. I'm flying to the Book Expo next weekend in LA and will be giving away hundreds of copies of my book.
I'm launching a new website, which will have this messageboard right on the home page in blog format. It should be up in the next week or two and I ask that you please visit my new site to add your contributions and knowledge so others may learn from your experience.
The address for my new website is www.vainencounters.com. I plan to write a book compiling all of your stories and will title it Vain Encounters.
Until then, please visit me at youpublish.com/lisascott.
Please join me in my effort to build awareness and help others who are just beginning to understand narcissism. They need our help and support. I feel strongly that what I experienced was for a reason. I hope you feel the same and will contribute your knowledge and personal experience to help those in need right now. Let's turn a negative experience into a positive one by helping others.
Thanks for your time.
Peace,
Lisa
